Not so good

Buy "Just a Band From East LA" instead, it has more energy and features more for less.

Maybe not their best 3 albums, but excellent nonetheless.

This combines The Ride, Good Morning Aztlan, and The Town and the City into one digital set. All are very good albums; The Ride was a concept of covers of their own music sang by different artists. Good Morning Aztlan is one of their best and takes them back to the Light of the Moon/Neighborhood era. The Town and the City is a bit more sobering given the subject matter (immigration), but the musicianship is excellent as always. Phenomenal live, never take themselves too seriously, hands down one of the best bands alive today.

Lobos Digital Box Set is Excellent Value

The combination of these last three albums from Lobos is an exceptional value. The Town and the City is the highlight of the three. The Ride is an interesting volume of collaborations between Lobos and their friends. Good Morning Aztlan has a number of highlights like Done Gone Blue but songs such as Hold On, The Road to Gila Bend, Chuco's Cumbia, No Puedo Mas, and The Town are simply astounding. Having seen the band work through these songs in a soundcheck just prior to the release of that CD, it is disappointing to see the limited commercial success of this highlight of the Lobos catalog; despite great critical acclaim. In addition, Lobos is one of the best live acts in the world after more than 30 years.

One of the most acclaimed American bands of the 1980s and '90s, Los Lobos were seasoned musical veterans with nearly 15 years of experience under their belts when they scored their first hit in 1987 with a cover of Richie Valens' "La Bamba." Though their time as pop stars was short, the group — who enjoyed calling themselves "just another band from East L.A." — won over critics and a legion of loyal fans with their bracing mixture of rock, blues, Tex-Mex, country, R&B, and Mexican...
