yeah!

haha...I've been waiting for a LONG time for Snow Patrol to put out an EP of live/acoustic cuts ever since I missed their tour stop in a local club (yes, I know, very sad...). And while the studio polished versions found on the amazing, sweeping "Final Straw" are a step above these tracks, this is a rare, soulful look into the music of Snow Patrol. I do feel, though, at these songs/this EP is more for steady, hard-core fans of Snow Patrol... Given that, these songs are extremely well done in their live and acoustic form: gritty, real, and a true novelty to listen to in today's music industry, where everyone is obsessed with studio veneer and overly-polished pop hits. THE BOTTOM LINE: If you're a love of live, acoustic music from insanly tanlent indie rock bands, definatly check out this little five song EP. Also, for those Snow Patrol Lovers out their, circulin the globe...Yet, if you're only intreresed in the sound or just bein introduced to Snow Patrol, I would reccommend they full-length studio album "Final Straw" as a better bet :) DOWNLOAD THIS: the one track to have off of this is (also my favorite track on "Final Straw") would have to be RUN. Sweeping, dramatic, and tender, it is an amazing track.

Not good.

I like Snow Patrol's CD VERY much. But the fullness of the songs and the individuality that comes thru in the singing are two of the reasons why I do like it. Both are gone here. These songs are stripped. I know "unplugged", but really they sound TOO sparse. And the vocals are emotionless, and not tuneful at all. All the original versions of these songs are better than any of these.

What They Really Sound Like

Snow Patrol is a great band, and you people are being way to critical over this album. It's the same songs, just acoustic, and live. Of course it's going to sound different, but the talent is still there. Every single band sounds not-as-good without all the dubbing and digital hoo-ha.

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

After failing to secure an international audience for nearly ten years, Snow Patrol broke into the mainstream with 2003's Final Straw, a mega-selling album that showcased the band's fondness for epic, melancholic rock. The group had originally stuck closer to the pop realm, releasing quirky albums that took more cues from Belle & Sebastian than Coldplay (to whom the band would later draw many comparisons). Final Straw proved to be a turning point, however, paving...
