Take a listen!

If you love rock n' roll and appreciate tight, deeeply-in-the-pocket a live set, yet!...take a listen to this band. These virtuoso Detroit survivors of famous and almost-famous bands of the 60's, 70's, and 80's cut loose on kick-a** renderings of their hits with bands like Mitch Ryder and The Rockets, as well as do smoking versions of other Detroit bands' hits. My favorite of those has to be 'I Wanna Be Your Dog'. The Stooges could only wish they had guitarist Jim McCarty's chops on the original.

Detroit Rock and Roll

The Hell Drivers' "Live From Detroit" is a wonderful exposition of Detroit rock and roll. The songs include great cover versions of the Stooges' "I Wanna Be Your Dog," Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels' "Jenny Take a Ride," and the Rockets' "Desire." These songs will be familiar to anyone from the Detroit-area who has listened to the original versions of these songs on rock radio for years. Hopefully, these songs will get a new audience with their availability on this collection. What makes "Live From Detroit" really worthwhile is the playing of guitarist Jimmy McCarty and Johnny "Bee" Badanjek who were original members of the Rockets and the Detroit Wheels and are superior musicians whose skill and passion are on display throughout these songs.
