A feeble attempt to make some money

I am a long time Genesis fan. The current tour was nothing more than an attempt to milk as much money out of the their fans as possible: over priced tickets to enormous venues; a paid membership fan site; a tacky "collector's edition" of all of their concert CD's... I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. This band hasn't done any new music in quite some time. I guess that Phil needed to make a payment on his yacht.

This compilation is just another sad scene in that saga. The sound quality is poor, the playing is uninspired and the seques from track to track are jolting, to say the least. To top it off, they include a compilation of their music videos. The only justification for this is to increase the price.

I strongly recommend ANY other Genesis live album over this stinker. Genesis Live, Seconds Out and their first archive compilation (with a complete Lamb Lies Down on Broadway show) are much better than this. Save your money.

This is SOOOO GOOD!!!

For anyone that wasn't fortunate enough to see the Genesis tour in 2007, this is the perfect buy. I was able to see the guys at their final show of the tour at the Hollywood Bowl. This serves as great reminder of a fantastic concert. Phil still sounds great after all of these years. I just hope they release a full DVD of the show because it was so visual.

it's been a long time...

but well worth the wait. Sure some of the arrangements/keys are different from previous live albums, but the history of Genesis has been about the charisma, beauty, and change of the live shows. From the theatrical performances of Peter Gabriel, to the vari-light shows of the 80s, there has always been something about seeing Genesis live, so a live album uniting Genesis as most of us knew them seems appropriate.

Home by the Sea and the In the Cage medley are amazing. But looking at how much music you get here and the added bonus videos which are good even just for nostalgia's sake...this album is one of the best bargains I have seen from itunes in a long time.

Phil's recent solo stuff has been lackluster and really showing his age. This music helps me believe that the best of Phil and Tony and Mike might not be behind them.

An excellent investment for the casual 80s fan and for die-hard prog-rockers from way-back.
