Album Review

Rob Zombie's American Made Music to Strip By features remixes of songs from Hellbilly Deluxe by like-minded producers and artists such as former Nine Inch Nails members Charlie Clouser and Chris Vrenna, Rammstein, God Lives Underwater, and Philip Steir, formerly of Consolidated. The sexy, sleazy, horror-movie vibe of Hellbilly Deluxe is amplified on a remix of "What Lurks on Channel X?" by the Spacetruckers, Rammstein's reworking of "Spookshow Baby," and the "Poly 915" remix of "Demonoid Phenomenon." Clouser turns in revamped versions of "Superbeast," "Dragula," and "Living Dead Girl" that expand on the songs' creepy yet hard-hitting feel. American Made Music to Strip By also includes a 28-page booklet of artwork and photos from the Hellbilly Deluxe tour.

pretty good

i'm not a big fan of remixes, especially when people try to remix music thats already great. and this certainly already was great music. but i gotta say, the remixers did pretty good with these. 4 stars only cuz nothing beats the originals.

A Underappreciated Zombie Album

Although I like non-edited albums my computer for some reason will only let me review the clean version. "American Made Music To Strip By" while being a rehash of all of the "Hellbilly Deluxe" tracks is a fairly well rounded remixed album. "How To Make A Monster" is probably my favorite of all of them, the original sucked total dog tail. I thought that Trent Reznor (I believe he was behind the album) did a very good job mixing the songs, it gives a more anthem feel to the songs and is an appropiate tribute to a well-respected artist like Trent himself. If you're not into electronic remixes then I recommend you previewing them before buying the actual album because many 'true' Zombie fans will be disappointed because of the techno-esque twist to his songs. However there are many people who may like these semi-artistic rehashes like myself and I hope you can find yourself to enjoy this album like I do. It's something to listen to when you walk down the street, a beat you can follow like NIN.
