Horrible Audio Quality

Robert Fripp is an amazing and insightful speaker. These recordings have great intellectual value. The problem is that there are portions that are blank or silent because the microphone did not pick up the audio. It is not a simple case of just not hearing the question asked because quite often the answer, or a portion of the answer is inaudible as well. This is very interesting to listen to, but it is not worth the price. For the price one would expect it to be sensibly edited and organized. It is an unorganized mess of audio clips with some of the information repeated and other information missing.

What an amazing and wise man! Who knew that this brilliant musician was also eloquent.

The Eloquent Robert

I purchased this recording on cassette when it was first released in around 2000, ably promoted by Robert's formidable sister Patricia. Aside from my own pleasure as a budding Crafty in hearing the recordings myself, the biggest fun was playing the tapes for Paul Richards of the California Guitar Trio (a longtime Crafty with a long history with Robert) and hearing Paul's own laughter and recollections. If you are remotely interested in Robert Fripp, King Crimson, Guitar Craft or what makes any of the above tick, do not hesitate, click the damn button and buy this recording!

During this time he began Giles, Giles and Fripp with Pete and Mike Giles. The trio only released one album, 1968's The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles and Fripp, yet the...
