For his second solo release as Atlas Sound, Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox combines his many scattered influences—ambient music, doo-wop, psych rock, bedroom folk—into a stunning, ethereal whole. Reverb-laced acoustic tracks (“An Orchid”) sound like early Syd Barrett distilled into pure haze, while the gauzy jaunt of “Walkabout” has Cox teaming up with Panda Bear for a delightfully summery slice of dream pop. It may be a side project, but Logos is a full-fledged creation in its own right.
