Magnificent Westerns

I love westerns and I absolutely love this album. My top choice is(of course) The Lone Ranger. I remember the movie from the mid 80's with Klinton Spilsbury in the lead role. The musical score is so rousing you can't help but listen to it over and over.

The Magnificent Westerns

“The Magnificent Westerns” is a collection of some of the finest examples of “Western” music. It ranges from the popular ones you would expect like “The Good, Bad and the Ugly” and “The Magnificent Seven” to lesser-known jewels such as “The Virginian” and “The Big Country”. These songs are lyrical and haunting, and take you to the breathtaking expanses of the American West. You are whisked back in time to the excitement of sitting in a darkened theater waiting anxiously for the movie to begin … and then the music fills the air and you are once again swept away into the story.

Imagine my surprise when, while listening to Pandora Internet Radio, I (not at all a fan of the Western genre) found myself listening to tracks from this album - and actually enjoying them. Not having seen many of these films, I can't vouch for their quality compared to the movies themselves, but I have to say, I loved the tracks I heard. "Guns for San Sebastian," "The High Chaparral," and "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" easily top the list, although I believe I have given a thumbs-up to every track from this album I heard on Pandora.

By the next decade, the choir had become one of England's leading large choirs, as they built a wide ranging repertoire that incorporated selections from standard classics to less familiar 20th century works (resulting in a total of four Performing Right Society Enterprise Awards the CEFC's innovative programming of contemporary...
