Customer Reviews

What a great album.

The energy in this album is refreshing. I especially enjoy the variety of influences that present themselves here. From straight-ahead rock to experimental grooving to country-infused blues, this collection draws upon the best of American Music.

The more you hear it, the more you like it.

Long Story Short dishes a full course meal – out on the back porch! While there is a southern flavor, this collection is more rock from down south than “southern rock”. It draws on the rich heritage of storytelling, rhythms and, well… havin’ a party out back. Just when you’re asking "are they thinking west Texas, American Hi-Fi or GA Satellites?" [Almost Gone], you swear you’re hearing the divergent influences of Molly Hatchet or the Beatles [All You Need], John Fogerty [On Fire], Elvis Costello [Smile Anhedonia], or the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, [Jesco]. Then you realize that, while the musicians have a great respect for a variety of musical flavors, the sound is their own and is not likely to be neatly categorized. Here’s hoping The Thrillhammers’ story doesn’t end with Long Story Short.
