Gets better and better!

Current Swell is one of those "next big thing" kind of bands. It's only a matter of time before they hit it big! With the release of their fourth album, "Long Time Ago" that time might be sooner than later. With every CS album you get a different musical journey and this release will bring you back to the roots. With Scott Stanton's slightly raspy, soulful voice and screaming slide guitar. David Lang's bluesy harmonica, solid rhythm guitar, and soothing vocals over top of Ghosty Boy's solid bass lines. Backed by Chris Petersen's inventive yet consistent drum beats come together to deliver a powerful blend of folk, rock, blues and reggae. With great, deep lyrical messages, catchy hooks, topped with four-part vocal harmonies from every member of the band, makes for an outstanding album!

Check it out. The more you listen to it, the more you'll quickly love this band!

Great Album from Best Band Ever

Pros: Current Swell is my favorite band and "Long Time Ago" delivers that awesome genuine sound that makes them great. Everything from the harmonicas, to guitars, to vocals, to trombones is exceptional and their blues-folk-rock sound is one like no other. In all, "Long Time Ago" is a great album from the best band I've ever heard.

Cons: Though "Long Time Ago" is great, I prefer earlier albums, specifically "So I Say" with songs like Money Riff, The Digger, The Greed and the Given, Stomach, Officer Down etc.I guess this is because "Long Time Ago" is a bit more "chorusy" and doesn't have as many of those long awesome non-repeating songs that would just keep going and going and popping out new stuff…but "Long Time Ago" is still so legit and these "cons" are probably more of just a reason to check out their other albums too.

Current swell is the #1 Band of my life. Buy every album, so worth it. Went to Montreal from Boston to see them, 6+ hours, best night of my life. I Want a Bird is my favorite off of this one. Every song they release is pure gold.
