Castrated rock

Guitar castration + air brushed music = weak effort. They used to be a rock/pop band. Sad.

What happened?

This bands first album is beyond words… it is that good. This 2nd one is, how could I say this nicely??? Not up to par with the standards they put into the first record. I took this album off my phone and left the first one.

Still waiting for it to grab me...

The first time I heard the Rifles was when a friend recommended I give their album The Great Escape a listen. I was instantly hooked. The music pulled me in and the lyrics kept me there. I was pretty stoked to hear that the Rifles were putting out a new album, but a little apprehensive about the lineup change (I understand the original drummer and bassist left the band). I've listened to this one a few times now and I'm still waiting for it to grab me. It's pretty good to start with and I'm sure it will grow on me, but I'm not blown away like I was with The Great Escape.
