iTunes Review

The next great British female vocalist? Holly Lapsley Fletcher makes a robust play for the crown with a startlingly poised debut album. Weaving ice-cool electronic production into her high-end torch songs, it’s still that rich, doleful croon that might just hand the 19-year-old a place at pop’s top table. “Hurt Me,” “Love Is Blind,” and “Silverlake” are your starting points: evocative and possessing giant, rousing choruses to thaw the iciest of dispositions.

Trust Me, the electronic elements are there.

Some other reviewer stingy about the way their electronic music sounds says this isn’t at all. Well in my opinion, LapSLAY is an electronic musician because she does everything herself using her own electronic instruments. Falling Short is a slow electronic R&B kind of bop so I’m sure fans of FKA Twigs and Banks will see what i mean. Im glad she’s finally getting her debut, Understudy was GREAT.

Empowering

Låpsley will always hold a special place in my heart. Her music is so moving. The layers, the vocals and the occasional irregular beats make me slightly uncomfortable - In the best way possible of course. I discovered her music during a time of growth in my life, and I think as I grow, Låpsley - as an artist is growing too:) Strong vocals, I'm trying to be patient with this new material!

A gem!

I discovered lapsley when watching an episode of Being Mary Jane. Instantly fell in love with Falling Short. Checked out her other projects, "Hurt You" is amazing.
