iTunes Review

With this 1988 debut, Philly’s Britny Fox took their AC/DC- and Nazareth-inspired riffage to MTV-star heights. Singer “Dizzy” Dean Davidson’s chainsaw vocals pull with rock-star aplomb arena anthems such as “Livin’ on the Edge,” “In America,” and “Rock Revolution.” '80s-era Kiss would’ve kissed each Britny Fox member to record the ballad “Save the Weak” and the hit “Long Way to Love.” But the power chords and shags work best when the band tip their hats to ’70s glam: their cover of the Slade boot-stomper “Gudbuy T’ Jane” rules, and their own “Girlschool” would’ve made a killer Runaways tune.

Britny Fox

Do yourself a favor and don't just buy Girlschool and Long Way to Love. Buy this entire album! Every song on this album is great. After you listen to this album in its entirety a few times you won't want to skip any of the songs on it. If you were too young during the late eighties to experience the FUN of Hair Metal. this album will serve as a window to allow you to peak in on the party you missed. Listen to In America and salute! Salute!

Naming themselves Britny Fox after one of singer Dizzy Dean Davison's Welsh ancestors, the band copped Cinderella's theatrical look and recorded their first demo, In America, with other members including Billy Childs on bass and Johnny Dee on drums.
