Album Review

Leave it to Tye Tribbett & G.A. to follow up their massive sophomore breakthrough, Victory Live!, with an even bigger monster, the highly anticipated Stand Out. The former propelled the New Jersey-based supergroup to the top ranks of contemporary gospel, so it's only appropriate that the latter would try to outperform its predecessor to meet heightened expectations. For the most part, Stand Out achieves that, as it continues to demonstrate that frontman Tye Tribbett is not one to take a lazy approach to modern gospel music. Instead, he makes sure he and his troupe sound as far removed from convention as possible, infusing the proceedings — recorded live at Rock Church International in Virginia Beach — with electro-pop ("Hold On"), rap-rock ("Prodigal Son"), Broadway ("I Made It Through"), futuristic techno-rock ("Stand Out"), and ska ("So Amazing"), plus other dabblings that are rarely, if ever, associated with gospel. More palpable still is the group's heart for worshipful expressions: Tribbett and company have never shied away from giving praise where praise is due, but this time their efforts are more deliberate, as evidenced by the several earnest ballads that pepper the set. Some of these are quite moving and effective in the thick of a high-powered live show, but on headphones they aren't necessarily up to par with the more adventurous picks. But those quibbles are minor: Stand Out is outstanding — yet another testament that Tye Tribbett & G.A. are the most exciting thing to happen to gospel music in the new millennium.

This album Stands Out from the rest!

Stand Out by Tye Tribbett is like no other Gospel album that has come out this year! Musically, it's genius! Some say the vocals could have been developed a bit more, but I don't know about all that. Now on to the rating: Best songs (9/10 - 10/10) - Stand Out - Hold On - Look Up - Bless the Lord (Son of Man) - I Need You - Prodigal Son - Halleujah - Let Us Worship - So Amazing - He Has Made Me Glad - I Made it Through - Chaing After You (The Morning Song) - Well Done Ok Songs (7/10 - 8/10) - All Hail the King 8.5/10 - 10/10 depending on my mood - Good in the Hood Gospel Rock - Stand Out (kinda) - Bless the Lord (Son of Man) - I Need You - Prodigal Son - Let Us Worship - So Amazing Gospel R&B and Traditional - Hold On - Look Up - Hallelujah - He Has Made Me Glad (Traditional) - I Made It Through (Traditional?) Most beautiful songs - Chasing After You (The Morning Song) - Well Done (If you love "Total Praise" you'll love this song!) - I Need You Praise and Worship songs = tracks 8-10 Most likely to make it in a video game if they wanted it in a video game: - Let Us Worship - So Amazing (also front runner for 'the song Tye most likely needed a throat drop after performing') Could be a great TV theme song - Good in the Hood Sounds like it could be a Musical - Prodigal Son - I Made It Through (also front runner for sickest drums!) - Stand Out Most likely to be done by somebody's dance ministry: - Stand Out - Hold On - Chasing After You (The Morning Song) - Well Done I was going to do a "must have" catagory but that's just too hard for this CD. Just a heads up, if you are the type of person who likes to stick to one genre of music then you won't like this CD. This CD really targets the younger generation. It does have some traditional stuff that will take you to church, i.e: "He Has Made Me Glad". But other than that if you don't enjoy listening to stuff geared towards a younger crowd and is different then I suggest you leave this CD alone. Everybody else, prepare to be blessed and blown away!

WOW! My God

This is a must! I'm glad God has given this vision to others! We gone stand out. Being Baptized in the Name of Jesus, being filled with the Holy Ghost (Spirit of God), Fasting PRAYING, and READING God's word will allow us to STAND OUT! PCAF Inc. Shiloh Apostolic Church!!!

You must Listen to this CD with a Spiritual Ear and not with a Fleshly Ear This cd Is preparing End time warriors to stand out... Go buy copies and pass them out to the saved and the unsaved and Lets Stand Out!!!
