Customer Reviews

i miss the rawness of the original but doesnt disappoint

When i first heard the crimea it was live at Billy Corgan's "Future Embrace" Tour at Deep Ellum Live. They were amazing live, very mellow yet energized enough that i managed to snag a cd on the way out for further enjoyment. I orginally owned the Lottery Winners on Acid EP and i listened to it over and over and over so naturally i went out and got the cd. I agree with the other review in that it seems more tampered with, tweeked here and there, an sub-track of piano, or an extra voice in the chorus or words that are replaced with more PC terms. It removes some of the original meaning, emphasis, and true emotion. Buy the EP's if u dont own them already and compare. The album, however kicks ass and grows on me more each time i listen to it. I definatly suggest that this be a new addition to your music collection.

tragedy what?

Bit of a disappointment after wearing the groves thin on my copy of Lottery Winners on Acid. Can you say overproduced? The production gets in the way on this one and muffles the intensity of the playing. Just listen to the LWA version of Baby Boom and then the version on TR to see what I mean.

Pretty darn good

Personally a bit too mellow and whiney for my test. However, I still give it 4stars because I could not help but enjoy songs like "Lottery winners on acid", "Here comes the suffering" and "Baby boom", in spite of the whineyness and somewhat silly lyrics. I think that this is the kind of album that really grows on you after a bit. Good effort!
