I don’t wanna be home alone anymore

Sadly disappointed. I was so hyped to know that The Weeknd and Gesaffelstein were collaborating once again, but I guess they subverted my expectations. To be quite honest, The Weeknd’s verses are what ruined the song for me. Otherwise it would have been an ok track. A vaguely homophobic line definitely grossed me out. Even if there weren’t allusions of converting bisexuals &/or gay people into heterosexuals (or “straightening”) the song would still be corny. Heck, I think it also has thinly veiled misogynistic statements with the whole piggish fantasy of being with two women at the same time.
With all of this said, I really want to state that I found Gesaffelstein’s production to be alright. Not as aggressive as let’s say “Conspiracy, Pt. 2” but it’s ok. Nothing truly spectacular or groundbreaking to my ears. His (Gesaffelstein’s) aesthetics on the music video are really amazing. Props to the people behind the vid.

This song is just Pray for Me 2.0. Switch it up. Also ditch the homophobic “I can change a girl” type of lyrics smh
