iTunes Review

Though Placebo has a fanatical cult following, its music is still very much within reach for casual rock music fans who like imaginative, melodic, and sometimes-grandiose glam pop-rock. Singer Brian Molko occasionally squeezes into the robotic Geddy Lee zone, but he keeps enough of his adventurous androgynous sexuality and subversive flash to stay a gothic misfit at heart. Producer Adam Noble smooths the band’s harder edges, but it’s in service to catchy songs that respond to this cut-to-the-chase approach. A heart-tangled tune like “Hold On to Me” deserves to reach even the most casual listener with its simple, cathartic plea, while “Too Many Friends”—about how we often make closer connections on the Internet than in person—is a modern and relatable admission. Molko gets cheeky for “Rob the Bank,” where the limits of love are tested. “A Million Little Pieces” settles in as an orchestral anthem for drifters in space. It’s easily Placebo's most accessible album. For his songwriting's sake, hopefully nothing will ever change Brian Molko into anyone but a perennial outcast.

Waiting anxiously!

Can't wait for this album to get out! Absolutely loved the first two singles. They sounds very fresh, certainly different from their previous works but then again, that's what Placebo does. They never repeat themselves and that's always been their strong suit in my opinion.

"Meds" has met its match.

My antidepressants don't allow me to cry. But "Exit Wounds" has left me weeping inside. My favorite song by far. Wow. The whole album is amazing. The album "Meds" is hard to top, but it has definitely met its equal in my opinion.

Can't wait!

I have listened to Placebo for a very long time and I am never disappointed when it comes to their art. They have always put out something to challenge the Viewer/Listener. I just know I will learn and love this album <3

Genre: Alternative

Due to their penchant for androgynous attire/makeup and raw, punky guitar riffs, Placebo have been described by some as a glam version of Nirvana. The multinational band was formed by singer/guitarist Brian Molko (part Scottish and American descent, but raised in England) and Swedish bassist Stefan Olsdal. Both members had previously attended the same school in Luxembourg, but they didn't cross paths properly until 1994 in London, England. Briefly called Ashtray Heart and influenced by the likes...
