Represent JoyJoy!!!

Love this album!!! So proud of my girl ;) "Lower Deck" is my fav! A great ballad is a evident here! The album is a great start for Joyo, and totally breaking boundaries for women in music. A solo asian/filipino artist...diva!!! with much respect to Jocelyn Erinquez, this is a cut above and much richer, buy it! Can't wait for another video!!!

Beautiful Music

Sometimes music just has a certain charm to it and a beauty that hits you hard and you realize that you're listening to something profoundly good and different. Love & Understanding is that way. Joyo Velarde sings with an irresistable passion whether she's belting out "Mama's Got A Brand New Swag" or crooning "The Way We Are", the girl has chops and rivals any mainstream singer out there.
One of the stand out tracks here (there are many though) is definitely "On and On". A very simple, elegant and classy ballad of heartache and loss, but with an edge of strength and humility that makes it an instant classic.
"Ticket To Love" and "Certain Special Way" are instant hits as well as the song, "Take You Home", produced by Asa Taccone.
The album is full of amazing production including her husband, MC Lyrics Born, who adds just the right touch of flash and funk to the record.
This is definitly not an album to be passed up. I highly recommend it. It has enough variety to make it playable at home, in the car or at a party with a refined maturity that instantly puts Joyo Velarde in the same category of talent as someone with the notoriety of Celine Dion.

I haven't bought the album but seems to me if your goal is to make to make timeless music then using a trendy hip hop cliche like "swag" in the title of the first song may not be the best idea.

Love and Understanding, Joyo Velarde
