About Teddy Brent

With a sound influenced by '70s and '80s funk with an extra helping of Prince, singer Teddy Brent came on the scene in 2008 with the infectious track "Vanity." After growing up in suburban Detroit, Brent moved to Decatur, IL, and attended Milliken University. It was there he decided to take a possible career in music seriously, a decision that would send him back to Detroit and the city's Wayne State University. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Voice Performance, performed with the Michigan Opera Theater, and then took on the role of music director at a Filipino-American Presbyterian New Church development. A move to New York City found him joining a songwriter circle and playing shows at the Bottom Line, CBGB, and other venues. After returning to Detroit once again, Brent signed with the Kass Record Group and began work on his debut album. With the "Vanity" single leading the way, Brent's Fashionable landed in April of 2008. ~ David Jeffries
