iTunes Review

The B-52’s started as a delightful novelty group but turned out to have quite a bit to say. At first glance, their open, party-like atmosphere and retro nods made them seem likely to be one-hit wonders. But the creative genius of Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, and Cindy Wilson ensured that the band would never go away quietly. The B-52’s took their silliness seriously, and songs such as “Private Idaho,” “Mesopotamia,” “Whammy Kiss!,” “Party out of Bounds,” “Roam,” and “Love Shack” beautifully express their universal pop appeal with melodies and grooves that simply never relent. There isn’t a false track here, and by the time the encores (“Planet Claire,” “Rock Lobster”) hit, it’s as if the band were performing these tunes for their first go-round and not more than 30 years on. They haven’t lost their celebratory vibe, and this will surely rank as one great party album.

Still a great party band.....

This Jeff is not giving this awesome collection of party tunes ONE STAR! obviously has never been to Planet Claire, shame on ignorant ravings from a wanna be teenager, I'm smiling cause its been a long long time waiting for a real B-52s LIVE GIG for all the world to share! Just love this fun band who've been making music and touring their butts off year in and year out. I still look for these guys to make the Rocking Roll Hall of Fame oneof these years(please don't make it in the Year 3000, I may not be around! Great cuts bouncing all over the place, cool harmonies, love, LOVE Keith and that guitar stylings and Fred, oh Fred, nice little touches make this memorable BUT you still need to see these guys live to get the full monty! thanks B's for doing it right!

Wild Fun!

I was a huge prog rock fan in the 70's until I walked into a party and they were playing the first B-52's album. My musical tastes shifted radically. I never saw them live until this tour and they were great! This should be wild fun!

Greatest Band Ever!!!

The first of many acts to cement the college town of Athens, Georgia, as a hotbed of alternative music, and one of the first American new wave acts to fuse retro-styled rock & roll with dance-friendly rhythms, the B-52s took their name from the Southern slang for the mile-high bouffant wigs sported by singers Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson, a look emblematic of the band's campy, thrift-store aesthetic. The five-piece group, which also included vocalist Fred Schneider, guitarist Ricky Wilson (Cindy's...
