Lennon & McCartney????

Lennon & McCartney are incorrectly noted as the composers of The Folks Who Live on the Hill. Actually, iTunes got the title wrong too. I think iTunes is confused with The Fool on the Hill. The Folks Who Live on the Hill is by Oscar Hammerstein and Jerome Kern.

superb album

The artist has given us an entirely new side of her tremendous talent to appreciate. Her renderings of a group of love songs from the popular and folk venues are warm and and sensitively performed. Her accompanist is perfectly attuned to the material and to the fabulous voice and art of Ms. von Otter. A pleasure to the ears and to the soul!

Mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter is known for her versatility in operatic roles, her interesting recital choices, and her willingness to take vocal risks. Her father was a Swedish diplomat whose career took the family to Bonn, London, and back to Stockholm while Anne Sofie was growing up. As a result, she gained fluency in several languages.
