iTunes Review

Not since Chris Issak’s first few albums has anyone revived the romantic grandeur of the early ‘60s as convincingly as Findlay Brown does on Love Will Find You. This British singer/songwriter harkens back to the sort of epochal yearning Roy Orbison captured nearly 50 years ago. Ballads like “Nobody Cared” and “Everybody Needs Love” are affecting pop arias, stately and tender. Brown embraces doo-wop on “Teardrops Lost In the Rain” and adds a lush tropical flavor to “If I Could Do It Again (I’d Do It With You).” If heartache is his specialty, he’s also capable of galloping country-rock, as “That’s Right” shows. Most impressive is “I Had a Dream,” a slowly unfolding expression of devotion delivered with passion and elegance. Bernard Butler’s production approach is worthy of special praise for its ability to creatively update Phil Spectorian ideas about sonic depth and perspective. Reverb-bathed guitars, throbbing horns and swelling strings add rich color to Brown’s cleanly contoured melodies.

Love Will Find You

Like it. Reminds me a little bit of a cross between Roy Orbison and the Everly Brothers.

Beautiful songs, great production

While different stylistically from his first album, Findlay's new album is just wonderful. He seems to have been inspired by the sounds of the early 60s and it fits his voice and songs perfectly. My favorite song is "Teardrops Lost In The Rain" which takes a bit of the Midnight Cowboy theme and flips it into a lovely song. Highly recommended!

Throwback...Way back

Didn't know it could be done, a throw back CD for who? All the stars fo the late 50's early 60's.. I think this Cd is a very nice gift to those artists. it actually is a very nice combo of Elvis with a flow as smooth as The mamma's and the pappas. I enjoy this and if u have a love for the classics find a place in your heart for this.

Genre: Singer/Songwriter

Years Active: '00s

British singer/songwriter Findlay Brown spent his formative years bare-knuckle fighting in the East Ridings region of Yorkshire. A chance encounter with a Jimi Hendrix record eventually turned the jail-bound youth from brawler to musician, and upon relocating to York, Brown became immersed in the local music scene. Financially destitute, the newly minted artist sold the Beatles autographs his grandfather had given him, bought himself a guitar, and eventually moved to London to pursue a solo career....
