iTunes Review

Even though he is a self-professed student of classicists like Merle Haggard and George Strait, Eric Church puts the old country formulas through a lot of unexpected twists on his sophomore album, Carolina. Whereas most young singers extol the virtues of small town life, “Where She Told Me To Go” uses a small roadside hamlet as a metaphor for the mistakes the narrator has made.

Eric church is the man!

Sensational Second Record

Oftentimes, artists are made or broken by their sophomore release. With Carolina, Eric Church builds upon his status as storyteller and witty lyricist. While this albums most popular song is "Smoke a Little Smoke," the emotional appeal of "Love Your Love the Most" and personal openness of "Those I've Loved" rival and in many ways surpass it in terms of musicality and message. Overall, Carolina is the album rich in both depth and radio-friendliness Church needed to cement his place in Country Music.
