Not the best song ever, but it is FREE! The guitar is pretty darn good for a free song, but "Powderfinger"'s voice could be better. Musically, the voice has such a small vocal range that it is kinda sad. When he attempts to reach the higher notes on his lackluster range, an unpleasant, whiny, uncontrolled sound. Lyrically, this song is not even worthy to be compared to some other rock bands, but, at least it's better than the lyrics of Shone by Flo Rida...

Awesome SONG!!!!!

Love the old school. :)

5 stars for being free

This song isn't exceptional or groundbreaking, but it's not often you get a solid rock song for free. The guitar solo rips just enough not to sound overindulgent, the hook is catchy, and I personally don't hear anything wrong with the singer's voice. He's no Frank Sinatra, but he delivers a solid performance, as do the rest of the band. The lyrics aren't life changing, but they are more poetic than a great deal of what I tend to hear on the radio. The acoustic section sounds just as warm as it should and the chorus isn't overcompressed to death. They stick to the formula and do it right. If this wasn't free, I might not buy it, and certainly never would have heard of it, but even so, it's a 3 or 4 star track. The fact that it's free definitely deserves the extra star. Thank you iTunes for the price, Powderfinger for the song, and the record label for the choice!

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Within the space of three albums, Powderfinger emerged as one of Australia's most popular radio-friendly rock bands. They hail from Brisbane, famous for its sub-tropical climate and its often ultra-conservative "deep north" politics. The band grew out of a three-piece, becoming Powderfinger in 1990 with the addition of two more members, including singer/guitarist Bernard Fanning. They cut their musical teeth performing cover versions of classics by Neil Young (taking their name from one of Young's...
