Customer Reviews

Listen Up, RIAA and Media Services!

This is the 2nd review I've ever written on iTunes. I was very happy when iTunes came along because it created a venue for me to pay for the songs I really wanted. Apple's outstanding vision created a venue for the artists to work directly with the public. I believe an artist deserves to be rewarded for their creative endeavors, but the RIAA's clueless marketing hacks force people into the grey market to find the music they like. Why? I am NOT going to pay $29 for one song. Period. This is the same business model that cleaned out our wallets with vinyl and CDs and it's not going to work any longer. WHEN is the RIAA going to GET IT that the digital age requires new thinking? They are no longer representing the artists in their best interests. It's really too bad that Black Fras has to lose out on the potential rewards for their great song Moving Into The Night. Read up on this folks ... you'll be really pissed about the inner workings of the RIAA and its unethical and corrupt process of artist management. In the end, the artist always gets screwed. "The high cost of production, marketing and distribution" is a fallacy in the digital age. If the RIAA continues to insist on controlling digital music they are going to lose. LOSE! The digital genie is out of the bottle. Rather than being unethical, corrupt thugs who throw people in jail in the name of "protecting the artist's rights", they should find methods that flow with the way things truly are. The widespread proliferation of digital music is the RIAA's swan song. I relish the day when I do a little jig to, "Ding, Dong the Witch is Dead". Black Fras, your represention at Media Services is giving you overpriced, worthless advice. Next time, give me a choice to let your music grow on me. Let me buy what I want to buy... In this case, your best approach would have been to sell Moving Into The Night as an EP single with 2 other mixes. I would have paid more than $0.99 for the song, but not $29, OK!? RIAA Execs? Instead of being the leeches that sap the life out of creativity and art, get a real job!

thinking of you solitare

the rest of the album is ehh... but thinking of you by solitare is a direct ipoddage.

Please explain this

I have been hearing Black Fras "Moving into Light" on XM BPM. Anxious to BUY it, I came to the Music Store to find it was available only as an album. Please explain the rationale of this. Does the artist limit the sale or does Apple make this choice. I'd like to understand
