Schwarzenbach's Symphonies

Jets to Brazil are one of those bands people just don't listen to for one reason or another. Maybe they never heard of them, maybe they're put off by this type of music. Whatever the case, it's a silly reason. Blake Scwharzenbach, frontman of the band, is potentially one of the most prolific and intelligent lyricists of the past few decades.

There was another review saying that bands like this don't get noticed - Perhaps they're not noticed because this band broke up MANY years ago. Look up Blake's other bands: forgetters, Jawbreaker, Thorns of Life.

As per this album directly: Fans of Schwarzenbach's earlier punk songs may find this a little softer. Okay, a lot softer. However, don't be put off by labels. Each of these songs is as engaging and pragmatic as anything you would find on Jawbreaker's Unfun, Bivouac, Dear You, etc. Cat Heaven, The Frequency and You're the One I want stand out as some of the best on this album.

So much emotion

My favorite song is Autumn walker

another undiscovered gem

In a time when there are so many bands, it's hard for great bands to get recognized. Jets to Brazil is one of those bands. This is a great album, but Cat Heaven stands out in my opinion as the best song.

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '90s, '00s

With the 1998 release of their first LP, Orange Rhyming Dictionary, Jets to Brazil took the expectations of their peers and turned them on their heads, surprising most with their breed of music that is fresh and excitingly...
