iTunes Editors’ Notes

Best known for mixtapes like Pep Rally and Leap Year, Hoodie Allen is part of a new generation of pop-rappers, trafficking in squeaky flows, self-deprecating humor, contemporary fashion, and songs for the (young) ladies. Like Mac Miller, Asher Roth, and Kosha Dillz, his approachability is key to his style; he even promises to personally call every single person who buys his album. Unlike his previous material, All American features no samples, with all the beats built from scratch by Hoodie and his longtime collaborator, producer RJF. It's undeniably catchy and tailor-made for crossover radio and/or house parties. Highlights include "No Faith in Brooklyn," "Eighteen Cool," "Top of the World," and "Lucky Man."

Just Dropped

This dude is so dedicated to his fans its not even funny. With the UStream chats, the Twitter Replies, and Phone Calls. This is probably one of the Hardest working independent rappers right now. The album is killer. Everyone should go out and buy it as soon as possible. Guy has some awesome beats, and his rhymes are dope. Every song has its own personality and just all flow so well. Totally deserves everything he's getting. BUY THE ALBUM.
