Album Review

Florida alt-rock outfit Go Radio (featuring former Mayday Parade singer Jason Lancaster) make their driving full-length debut on Lucky Street. Working with producer Tim O’Heir, who worked with All-American Rejects and Say Anything, the band follows the mold of those groups, fusing a pop-punk influence into its guitar-heavy sound, adding a sense of urgency to the music without sacrificing melody. The result is a kind of plaintive alt-rock that’s able to be uptempo without necessarily being upbeat, giving the album enough drive to grab listeners' attention and enough emotional weight to keep them interested. With hard rocking jams like “Kill the Beast” and “Fight, Fight (Reach for the Sky)” in Go Radio's repertoire, Lucky Street definitely makes for a promising debut from the Tallahassee quartet, and will definitely be of interest to fans of Lancaster’s from his Mayday Parade days.

BUY. NOW.

It's by Go Radio, you know it's good.

Not what I expected but still great.

If you've been with Go Radio since the beginning then there's really no reason to buy this entire album. The only new songs are the Rolling in the Deep cover and Worth It All the While. It's a fantastic album all the while but the other bonus tracks are just pulled off their Welcome to Life and Do Overs and Second Chances EPs. Great band. Absolutely love their sound but like I said, if you've been with them from the very beginning just buy the two new tracks and the vidoes if you'd like. Now, I believe I shall go back to repeating Rolling in the Deep over and over. :)

Nothing to say but..

AMAZING. Buy it now!

Singer/guitarist Jason Lancaster left Mayday Parade in April 2007, shortly after the band finished recording the album A Lesson in Romantics for Fearless Records. Burnt out on music and needing a break, Lancaster quickly discovered, however, that he couldn't stay away from playing for long, and by 2008 he had moved on and formed the similar-sounding Go Radio. Based in Tallahassee, Florida, he recruited bassist Matt Burns and drummer Steven Kopacz, and after going through two guitarists, the band...
