iTunes Review

“Everybody wants to rule the world,” goes the chorus to the Tears for Fears classic, and in the ‘80s, the duo of Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith came as close as anyone. Shout is a chronological document of their chart-topping run through the sad-eyed synth-pop of “Pale Shelter,” the seismic, stadium-shaking gospel of “Shout,” and the splendorous, Magical Mystery Tour-evoking psychedelia of “Sowing the Seeds of Love,” whose layered complexity reinforces the fact that Orzabal and Smith were indeed one of the most innovative songwriting teams of their time.

Great Album. Period.

This is a great album, but let's clear this up. Mad World is a song by Tears for Fears released in 1982. Almost twenty years later, Michael Andrews and Gary Jules covered the song, or RE-recorded it in a style of their own (key word RE, this is not Gary Jules or Michael Andrews song, they did not write it) for the movie Donny Darko. Then years later the same cover was used in a Gears of War commercial. The End.

Tears for Fears is the best!

I love the band, its the best rock band ever. Love the song ''Mad World''

Driven by catchy, infectious synth pop, The Hurting became a big hit in their native England, setting the stage for international stardom with their second album, 1985's Songs from the Big Chair.
