Wonderful Score--Exactly the OPPOSITE of What I Expected

John Ottman's score for The Usual Suspects is a very beautiful, sad, and mysterious thing. When going in to the movie I was surprised at how un-hip and orchestral it was. I expected a lot of electronica and hip-hop. This is a great, mellow, beautiful score that utilizes some wonderful and unexpected insturments, from the cello, to the viola, to a simple wood block, to enormous drums. Definately buy this. And the movie.

Movie is great

Even though the movie was great I don't think the songs on this soundtrack are really good to listen to if you aren't watchin the movie, but if you really like the movie you will love this soundtrack and you should def by the album

Best Movie....

I gotta say, I don't usually buy soundtracks from movies, but this one was a must. The movie itself is nothing like I have ever seen before with a very twisted ending. It has become my favorite movie and I suggest it very highly. If you see the movie, you'll understand how the subtle instruments of the soundtrack are actually exceptional.
