ALMOST THERE

Rhino Records could have left off "Snap Your Fingers" and added the 1965 hit "Make Me Your Baby" and in my opinion, would of had a steller CD. This lady had a great voice!. Too bad we didn't hear more from her. One of Atlantic Records best female artists!

First Romance, last dance

Barbara Lewis' "Baby I'm yours" was the absolute best song to dance the last dance of the evening to...If you had a crush on a special someone, her music would make sure it happened from both ends. She got more people together than chocolate and roses on Valentine's Day.

Pop-soul doesn't get much better than Barbara Lewis, whose seductive, emotive croon took "Hello Stranger" to number three in 1963. The Michigan native had been writing songs since the age of nine, and began recording as a teenager with producer Ollie McLaughlin, who also had a hand in the careers of Del Shannon, the Capitols, and Deon Jackson.
