iTunes Review

Rapper/singer Anderson .Paak’s third album—and first since his star turn on Dr. Dre’s Compton—is a warm, wide-angle look at the sweep of his life. A former church drummer trained in gospel music, Paak is as expressive a singer as he is a rapper, sliding effortlessly between the reportorial grit of hip-hop (“Come Down”) and the emotional catharsis of soul and R&B (“The Season/Carry Me”), live-instrument grooves and studio production—a blend that puts him in league with other roots-conscious artists like Chance the Rapper and Kendrick Lamar.

2016 = Year of the .Paak

Anyone who's been watching this mans come up over the past few years already knows this joint is about to be an instant classic.

It's Soul School

Classic soul with an obscure vocal which makes it original. This brotha has carved his own lane and he's comfortable in it. Bang your head, break out your air guitar,or just let your soul be uplifted and touched by the rhythmic sounds. Ladies and Gentlemen... I give you, Anderson Paak! Yeeaahhh, that's gooood.

Sounds like O.B.E breezy with a Venice touch.

From what's released in definitely liking his sound as always. Not sure about these features though. Example The game is a great rapper but his style and voice just seems so wrong for the track he's on. That's just my opinion, but we will have to wait for release to see. You guys need to stop hyping the album up before release with 5 stars. Definitely changing my rating when the album drops. Glad to see ole boy make he climb though been with him since his breezy days when I saw him do knocksteady live. Keep at it much love to you and your family!

Born and raised in Oxnard, California, Paak's first experience as a musician came as a teenage drummer in the church band. As an adult, he helped manage a marijuana farm in Santa Barbara while working on a debut album, but when he lost his pot job unexpectedly, the recording costs had put him in deep debt.
