So much more than just the one song you all know...

As you can tell from my handle, I've been a Mr. Mister fan for a long time - I was introduced to them, as we all were, through "Broken Wings". In the early 80's they blazed the charts with singles from the album "Welcome to the Real World". I had bought that on CD when it came out and I considered it a perfect album - one that I never had to fast forward through. Their later albums, "Go on...", (which is not on the iTunes store but many of the tracks are on this compilation) and "Pull" (unreleased but brilliant) showed them growing and trying new things; never popular with fans who want to hear "Kyrie" over and over again. This compilation gives you the obvious hits and some of the later material which deserves merit, such as "Healing Waters" and "Something Real (Inside Me/InsideYou)". For the fan and novice alike, this album is a decent one-album set.

Love it

Broken Wings makes me break into tears every time I listen to it. Still love it :'-) Thank you GTA: Vice City for introducing me to new music!

driving music

this album replaces 'go on' and 'welcome to the real world' I drove alone from anchorage alaska in 1988 to virginia (5500 miles) in 7 days. i slept about a total of 7 hours. when i got sleepy i put in 'welcome to the real world' tape. the pumping sound kept me awake and driving - it's a time i cant forget, good or bad. so this music is somewhat special to me.

A product of the L.A. session-musician community (which also produced the harder-rocking Toto), Mr. Mister enjoyed a brief but massive burst of popularity during the mid-'80s, crafting an atmospheric, vaguely progressive variation on slick, radio-ready pop/rock. While they disappeared almost as quickly as they arrived on the scene, their two number one hits, "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie," remain enduring classics of '80s mainstream pop. Mr. Mister was formed in 1982 by bassist/lead vocalist Richard...
