I confess myself disappointed

I have been a Bush fan from the very start. They were the very reason I got into music, and inspired me to sing and play guitar as a kid. With that being said, the two songs available to preview sound just like a continuation of the 'Sea of Memories' album...dull to say the least. With the exception of the song 'Sound of Winter', just about EVERYTHING after Golden State has undergone a severe style change. If you like it, great. But if you loved the amazing guitar riffs, vocals, and signature sounds from Sixteen Stone to Golden State, then you won't find it here. This is not Bush reborn. Let's call it like it is...this is Institute - with a different name.

Bush's signature sound was a combination of things. Gavin's vocals for starters. Everyone loved his voice, but now modern or alternate recording techniques combined with plugins/technology have altered the way his voice sounds. Believe it or not, mixing will make or break this for vocalists. Second, Nigel's guitar playing style. - both his attention to tone and slide playing MADE the first two records stand out. Yes, we all know they tried to get him back, but it doesn't change the fact that we're missing a HUGE piece of Bush's signature sound. And finally, their overall mix. For the first two records, they recorded all of their instruments at once, live for a truly organic and natural sound. And it turned out amazing - imperfections and all. Now, Bush is less organic and too doctored...almost too perfect.

Harsh review for a hardcore fan, but I am still thankful for all the years of amazing music Bush has provided.

Heavier, please

I hope the rest of the sobgs are heavier than this one. I miss Nigel Pulsford soooo much!

What the heck are these bad reviews dated before the album came out??? Best Album since Sixteen Stone…. No filler songs at all, great album to just listen all the way through and not be disappointed!

Formed: 1992 in London, England

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Led by guitarist/vocalist Gavin Rossdale, Bush was the first post-Nirvana British band to hit it big in America. Of course, they became a hit by playing by the grunge rules -- they had loud guitars, guttural vocals, stop-start rhythms, and extreme dynamics. Formed in late 1992 by Rossdale, Bush landed an American record deal before they had a British label. Their debut album, Sixteen Stone, produced by Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley (producers of early-'80s hits by Madness and Elvis Costello, among...
