Notas editoriales de iTunes

At the climax of "The Mask," Fugee Pras Michel describes a moment of truth just after he pulls a gun on a crooked cop. "Well, did you shoot him?" interrupts Wyclef Jean. "No, kid," Pras replies: He'd mistaken himself for Biggie Smalls. The Score, the New Jersey hip-hop trio's second (and apparently final) album, is full of such wry humor about the rap game and knowledge of street life in general. It was a deep-dish cover of the Roberta Flack oldie "Killing Me Softly With His Song" that pushed the record over the top in sales, but what makes The Score resonate is a smart male/female dynamic — the trio's third member is Lauryn Hill — a humanism that comes through both in rhyme and music, and, oh yeah, bizarre laughs. (One interlude features a Michael Jackson-humming Chinese-takeout owner administering a beatdown to a recalcitrant customer.) Though the Fugees couldn't make their partnership last, The Score's broadminded attempt at making something really new succeeds.

Hip Hop is unfair

How is it that great hip hop albums like this are compltely overlooked, and crap like souja boy or flo rida sits on the top of the charts. This is true hip hop. These mc's are extremely talented and the lyrics are creative and thoughtful. The fact that great albums like this don't get any recognition just blows my mind

best rap album ever

this is simply the best hip hop album ever created. It's a shame the Fugees are having issues with their record label in terms of artistic freedom. This album has reason for being the best selling hip hop album ever (18x Platinum), because it is simply a masterpiece. Every song has an amazing beat, with conscious, well though-out lyrics from Wyclef, Lauryn Hill, and Pras. Lauryn Hill does some of her best rhyming on the album and shows why she's an inspiration for all women in hip hop. There is not a bad song on the album. At all. Listen from beginning to end with no problem.

ridiculous.

this album is one of hip-hop's masterpieces and it only has 3 reviews? these mc's are sick.

The Fugees translated an intriguing blend of jazz-rap, R&B, and reggae into huge success during the mid-'90s, when the trio's sophomore album The Score hit number one on the pop charts and sold over five million copies. The trio formed in the late '80s in the New Jersey area, where Lauryn Hill and Prakazrel Michel ("Pras") attended a local high school and began working together. Michel's cousin Wyclef Jean ("Clef") joined the group (then called the Tranzlator Crew), and the trio signed to Ruffhouse/Columbia...
