iTunes Review

Without question Sacramento's most over-the-top homicidal rapper (no small feat), Brotha Lynch Hung has been cranking out ultra-disturbed, super-hardcore hip-hop since the early '90s, when he hit the scene alongside X-Raided. Lynch's first album, 24 Deep, dropped back in '93. He's been busy ever since, releasing countless solo joints, collabo projects, mixtapes, and DVDs, all overflowing with blood-splattered horror-movie imagery with an emphasis on mass murder, cannibalism, rape, and general graphic violence. Now signed to Tech N9ne's Strange Music, he has a brand-new built-in cult following for his proudly perverse wordplay. Mannibalector is the final edition of a trilogy (following Dinner and a Movie and Coathanga Strangla). Playing like an audio version of Fangoria magazine, Lynch's music is definitely an acquired taste, but if you're into insane psycho-killer rap, nobody does it better. Check out "Sweeney Todd," "Disappeared," and "Body on the Floor."

He hooked up with Master P for a 1993 EP named 24 Deep, but then went out on his own for his debut solo album, 1995's Season of da Siccness. Mann worked on production for Master P's I'm Bout It, E-40's Southwest Riders, and Mr. Serv-On's Life Insurance before turning back to his own career. Given a big push by Master P's breakout success in the middle of 1997,...
