A Look Into A Musical Utopia

MARSTROPOLIS by ROB ASTOR is a well conceived, well constructed look at a future society through music. Heavily influenced by the likes of TANGERINE DREAM, SPENCER NILSEN, JAMES HORNER, KEN DAVIS, LIQUID MIND, and BIOSPHERE, ROB ASTOR takes his listeners to a dimension filled with fascinating sounds. Every track paints an individual picture with imaginative titles and with a wide variety of instrumentation. The textures and stylings are a broad variety to satisfy any musical taste. You will find dance music ("Galaxy Groove", "Holographic Nightclub"), dreamy ballads ("Falling Up", "Copernicus Museum"), Jazz Fusion ("Gemini Delta"), 1980s Power Pop ("Janet Jetson", a tribute to Janet Jackson's late 1980s Arena pop), New Age ("Trappings Of Time", "Blue Sunset"), Acoustic Guitar ("New Pompeii"), World Music ("Walking Winds", Pharaoh's Garden"), and Rock & Roll ("Race To Northpoint Station", "Trans Polaris", "Rock & Red"). This two disc set is worth the price for a two and a half hour musical vacation escape. ROB ASTOR also writes Science Fiction. Check out a story at and in the May 2006 issue of Silver Moon Magazine at I can't wait for the release of his new music in 2006, starting with XENOPHOBIA.
