Album Review

Masterpiece is Deitrick Haddon's first proper solo album since 2013's R.E.D. (Restoring Everything Damaged). Since that album's release, he guided his League of Xtraordinary Worshippers and got involved with the reality series Preachers of L.A. and Preachers of Detroit. Haddon updates his unique contemporary gospel sound, combining modern R&B and hip-hop elements while drawing from traditional gospel and soul. Among the highlights are bouncing tracks like "Sinners," "Running," and "Masterpiece" itself. Later cuts such as "Under Control" and "Testify" are relatively organic and stripped down yet no less potent.

Seriously the ONLY thing that calms my newborn. Deitrick's music kept him calm in the womb as well. Think we have a mini fan๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

Your Periscope led me here. Looking forward to hearing the remaining songs!!!

An Inspirational Journey

Having been a long time fan of Deitrick and the entire Haddon family, this album doesn't disappoint. I've only listened to 2 songs through preordering, yet it's apparent that the listener will enter into Deitrick's life journey with spirit filled, soul stirring music. It's a can't miss.
