Trip out and buy Maui Tears

Phycedelic garage rock at it's best. Sleepy Sun's Maui Tears is a classic album. To the people mentioning Rachael leave it in the past. They have grown and learned more about their own sound since she has left. Just like Syd Barret was an important Role in the making of Pink Floyd it was after he had to leave the band that they made Dark Side of the Moon.

Still good but still Rachel-less!

With Co-vocalist Rachel Fannan gone the band just isn't what it once was. Still sludgy psychedelic rock at it's best but it's missing the beauty that Fannan brought to the fold.

Back to the Goods

I have to say after listening to this new album a couple of times through, I am very pleased. Maui Tears sounds a lot more like Sleepy Sun's first two LPs, but with a mixture of the Spine Hits sound. It's unfortunate that people can't stop bringing up a former band member two albums later, because I think this is a really good album. It's a rare thing these days to listen to an album from start to finish and say "that was a complete album", but Sleepy Sun have done it for me on this one! 4 1/2 Stars
