Low Blows

Low Blows

Meg Mac has a talent for saying things you wish you said and describing moments you wish upon your mortal enemies. And she does it with such largesse that you feel every drop of regret and release. The singer/songwriter draws upon vintage eras for inspiration, giving Low Blows an amber haze. She makes fast friends with a piano throughout Low Blows—especially “Maybe It’s My First Time,” “Didn’t Wanna Get So Low But I Had To,” and “Cages.” Mac rides a rhythm like a seasoned vet on “Kindness.” The band doesn’t disturb her groove—staying in the pocket and letting Mac do her thing.
