simply for the 'liz reed.

won't replace the fillmore or eat a peach? yes, this may not be true, but that is far removed from the point. this is a band that has released enough live material to last you a solid month of listening, and yes, some could even call this release excessive, unlike the polished perfection of the aforementioned albums, but to compare them is just like saying "well this 'dick's pick' is good but it ain't no 'live/dead' or 'europe 72." it's almost ridiculous. no one was trying to reproduce or copy anything from some previous recording. this is simply meant to be an "on" night of music from a really "on" band. and furthermore, please do not fail to listen to elizabeth reed, as it is here. you may have heard it a thousand times elsewhere, but the acoustic one here is absolutely one of the most beautiful and superbly developed pieces of music to have graced the planet. and be sure to check out 'back where it all begins,' as well as many others. great tunes, spot-on jams.

Great Live CD

An evening with the Allman Brothers set 1 and 2 are awesome and include Dickey Betts and Haynes playing an acoustic version of "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed." Other songs to check out are "Back Where it all Begin" a nice tune written by Betts. "Dreams" is always a good tune. "Southbound" and "Midnight Blues" a among others that are worth a listen. The rest of songs are also good, and i don't think that any of them are not worthy of being called Allman Brothers music. Although, since this is a three pack, you are kind of stuck with a studio album that isn't quite as good as their live albums or previously released studio albums. It's an alright deal, but i do suggest listening to the 2 live sets, always nice to hear the allman brothers band.

The Best music Money can buy

My favorite Almman Brothers Live set. hope i get a chance to see these guys live someday..
