iTunes Review

Neil Diamond is a showman. And a showman needs songs that let him exaggerate his movements and his vocal phrasings. Working with producer Don Was (Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones) and his assistant Jacknife Lee, Diamond achieves the grandeur of his best ‘70s work. These songs take chances. The title track recalls the easy gait of “Song Sung Blue.” “Seongah and Jimmy” centers on syncopated rhythms and orchestral bells and whistles. “Nothing but a Heartache” cranks up the drama. Melody Road features all the elements that made Diamond a legend, with new songs that do their best to celebrate his talents one more time.

Diamond; heartfelt and true -The Art of Love

Obviously written from the heart, like so many of his songs. When my fiancé and I met, she saw something in me, and vowed to teach me the art of love. Diamond wrote the words that reside in my heart. I think it was written for us and about our love. Thank you Neil.

"Real" music needs a comeback like this!

So much of today's music is just awful. When you listen to the lyrics of Something Blue (or watch the video), Neil seems like he's having a good time. Heartfelt music with real instruments like a guitar and piano seem like a novelty nowadays. Neil Diamond is a true songwriter and it's nice to see his music make a comeback in a meaningful way. This is coming from a 34 year old who listened to their parent's Neil Diamond records in the 80's.

I've heard a couple songs so far and they are awesome, can't wait to hear the rest.

In a career that began in the 1960s, Neil Diamond became a major recording artist, an internationally successful touring act, and a songwriter whose compositions produced hits for himself and others. His earliest recognition, in fact, came as a songwriter associated with the Brill Building era of Tin Pan Alley in the early '60s. But he soon branched out into recording and performing, and by the early '70s was topping the charts with the self-written singles "Cracklin' Rosie" and "Song Sung Blue."...
