Best Medelssohn cycle out there!

It is really great when a cycle comes out and every single aspect of it is pleasing. This is one of those cases. Abbado and the responsive LSO really capture the tragedy of Medelssohn's life in these recordings, and his prodigiousness can really be seen in the earlier symphonic masterpieces.
