A question of ethics and morality

Ska is one of the few styles of music I can listen to that almost every song follows the same dynamics, rock obviously has its staple tricks and sounds but let's face it, rock is multi-faceted with a wide range of diversity and room for evolution. That being said, all these songs have a lot of energy and are a lot of fun (it IS ska) but all sound fairly similiar (to a point). Multiple listenings are key and an understanding of spanish will totally blast this record off for the listeners, as the lyrics and ideas are astonishing due to their moral fiber and sheer honest ability to almost coerce morality and a sense of equality into anyone brave enough to take a long hard look at the beast inside of us all. Songs like Planeta Eskoria (dregs or scum of the earth), Eres Un@ Mas (you´re one more) and ETT's (businesses for temporary work) help paint a picture of a world where everyone is enslaved by evil corporations who care only about money and power, the helplessness and manipulation of the citizenry and the corruption of politicians who are just working for the whims of the rich. The rest of the album covers issues of animal cruelty (Vergüenza), legalization (Como Me Pongo) corruption in the Vatican (La Mosca Cojonera), Nazism (A La Mierda), Xenophobia (Lucrecía),the Iraq war (Tío Sam) and violence against women (Violencía Machista). Up beat fun-loving songs such as Derecho de Admisíon and El Autentico (about the infamous annoying drunk that always goes to your favorite bars and bothers everyone) break up the seriousness of the record a bit for the more casual listener. The instigating and inspiring Naval Xixon provokes the listener to fight for the peoples rights, and Mestizaje is a great song urging the world to throw its hatred down and embrace its wondrous multi-ethnicity. Lyrically one of the best albums out there, if you don't know spanish, translate the songs and prepare yourself to enter a brave new world.
