A Must Buy Album!!

Every new album they put out they just gets better and better and "Metamorphosis" continues this streak.

Good Work but Surprising

I didn't exactly expect Martin Buus and Jakob to create guitarwork like this, as usually there is a "mercenary" signature sound even though every album is so different. The vocals are different and more rock'n roll than in the past too. The loss of Mikkel (Vocals), Mike (Drums), and Morten (Keyboard) is devastating and definitely makes it tough to stay open minded and the excitement factor is definitely not what it was prior to their leave. Now I will say that the new guitar work is fantastic and they have a much more rich sound than in Architect of Lies, which is a great album too, and some riffs are soft, clean, and very melodic even with respect to their past and some are harder than ever heard before from the band like in Velvet Lies before the solo and the crazy riff in Through the Eyes of the Devil!!! The Vocals and Guitars and Drums are good in the chorus for The Follower which is classic and a true example of most of this album's choruses. Unfortunately the drums throughout don't compare with the old crazy Mike for the most part. I feel that Rene is definitely an awesome harsh vocalist, but the in between rock'n roll sounding are a little different and for most metal heads aren't good at all like in Black Brigade, but I have fallen in love with them after some open minded listening. The synth isn't as classical as it was with Morten as it is now a more techno-like sound! I would buy the album... it is made with lots of passion and has awesome music theory and thats what counts.

A New Mercenary

Mercenary's always changing every album, but this album they've evolved. New style, with Mercenary quality, which means it's awesome. iTunes needs to fix "The Devil's Own" as they have a poorly encoded version of the song. Fix that so I can actually listen to the final song that I paid for in it's true quality.
