Album Review

Italian singer Zucchero made his name in his homeland largely working with blues-inflected material, but Overdose d'Amore: The Ballads showcases a rather different side. Zucchero demonstrates on this compilation of previously released material that he can also hold his own as an emotional, adult contemporary-style pop balladeer, taking on duet partners like Sting, Sheryl Crow, and even Luciano Pavarotti. It may not be quite as distinctive as his more typical sound, but Overdose d'Amore may serve to highlight a side that's more accessible to some listeners.

This guy is terrific. Even in Italian it sounds great. English lyric songs are incredible. A better version of Joe Cocker. Ray Charles thought this guy was the best blues singer around. I agree. Tastefull stuff.

I LOVE ZUCCHERO!!!! His music is fabulous. No matter how many songs he has, every single one is just as good. He has no bad songs. Highly recommended!
