About Zuill Bailey

Among the leading cellists of the early 21st century, Zuill Bailey is widely admired for his polished technique, refined musicality, and charming personality. Primarily known as a concerto soloist, Bailey has performed with the major symphony orchestras of the world, and appeared with conductors Itzhak Perlman, Andrew Litton, James DePreist, and Stanislav Skrowaczewski. In the area of chamber music, he has worked with the Juilliard String Quartet, pianist Leon Fleisher, violinist Jaime Laredo, and cellists Lynn Harrell and Janos Starker. Bailey is a member of the Perlman/Schmidt/Bailey Trio, along with pianist Navah Perlman and violinist Giora Schmidt. He has often performed in recital with pianists Awadagin Pratt and Orion Weiss.
