Mike Mills: Concerto for Violin, Rock Band, and String Orchestra

In this unique crossover work, R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills delivers a swinging rock 'n' roll concerto. Redolent of the ‘70s orchestral rock of Elton John and Electric Light Orchestra, this work combines tight grooves, rumbling riffs, and virtuosic musicianship by both soloist Robert McDuffie and the orchestra members.
So happy to be the first to write a review for this great CD and collaboration! I was in the audience when they performed it in Aspen this past August, and it was one of the most exuberant, exciting, and unforgettable concerts in recent memory. I've been waiting for this CD to be released, and here it is, in all its vibrancy. Listen in, people, and love it!
