Time Being Track

This is probably the best recording of a big band so far ever. Probably about the 6th time I have purchased it. It sounded like a crackling on the beginning of Time Being? Is this from the RCA Master?

No one will ever replace Buddy. Having gotten to see him many times and all since no one touches him and his band in raw excitement and big band performance. A legend that deserves revisiting again and again. Thanks for putting t on iTunes.

The very first album I ever owned.

I new every hit and lick on this album when it came out back in 1971. I loved it...absolutely fantatstic. RCA had just released the newly Dyna Vinyl that was far more flexible than almost anything out on the market at the time and I wore the grooves out of this over many many years of playing it. Then I bought it on cassette and hunted this down from Mosaic to buy it ion CD several years ago. I own Stick It (here on i-Tunes) and Different Drummer Japan CD only, as well from the contract Buddy had with RCA. After that he signed on with Groove Merchant. But, these RCA recordings were very special to me. At age 11 years old this was the absolute most fantastic music and drumming I heard in my short life. Buddy was The Greatest Drummer ever to walk this planet and so far 25 years later, I've never seen another come close to the taste and hand speed this man possessed. People say arguably that this band on these recordings were some of the best musicians Buddy ever played with. But, for an even better and tighter band go listen to Class of 1978 or newer more aptly named The Best Band I ever Played With. Buddy Rich absolutely smoked and this classic recording has him driving as only he could. Get it!

When it came to technique, speed, power, and the ability to put together incredible drum solos, Buddy Rich lived up to the billing of "the world's greatest drummer." Although some other drummers were more innovative, in reality none were in his league even during the early days. A genius, Buddy Rich started playing drums in vaudeville as "Traps, the Drum Wonder" when he was only 18 months old; he was completely self-taught. Rich performed in vaudeville throughout his childhood and developed into...
