About REMMI

Part of Nashville's burgeoning electro-pop scene in the mid- to late 2010s, Remmi is singer/songwriter Rachel Smith, whose voice and lyrics bring depth to her breezy music. An Orlando native, she moved to Nashville in hopes of getting a job in songwriting and publishing. As she honed her approach, her music became increasingly electronic and drew comparisons to Cappa and Broods. She released her debut single "Capable" in 2014 and followed it with a string of tracks that included "Star Spangled" and "Awake, Asleep," all of which appeared on the 2015 EP New America. Later, Remmi collaborated with producers and artists such as Lucian, appearing on the title track of his 2016 EP Forever, and NVDES, lending her vocals to their 2017 single "Do Your Thing." She returned on her own in early 2018 with the politically charged single "Minimum Wage." ~ Heather Phares
